POPPING UP ON BOARD
What I see students do all the time is when they are ready to stand up, they make it up onto their knees then freeze. Its understandable, the water is moving, its scary to try and stand, but looking down at the board can make this process more difficult.
My little trick is taken from a yoga idea that says:
"where your eyes go energy flows"
Naturally you stand up faster & with less fear because you are looking up at beach rather than down at moving board.
when your chest is down you can put to much weight at front of board and may nose dive or not be able to paddle as efficiently,
Make sure you are far enough back on the board & keep chest and chin up, maybe even bend knees so you lift back of the board, your belly is a magnet to the board.
"SURFING IS JUST DISTRIBUTING YOUR WEIGHT ON THE BOARD"
SEE YOU OUT THERE!
